Phase I, the Preliminary Corridor Study, was initiated in January 2002. Phase I of the I-12 to Bush Corridor Study documented the existing conditions in the natural and manmade environments within the project area and defined the project's Statement of Purpose and Need. Most of the information for this Phase was collected from existing sources of data from St. Tammany Parish, state and federal agencies. The public participation process for this Phase included series of meetings with the commenting agencies, local elected and appointed officials, members of the general public and media representatives. This Phase was completed in August 2002.
